The olive tree is one of the oldest traditional crops of Europe. Its origins date back to ancient Mesopotamia.

The size of the olives depend on the variety but typically range in between 1.5 and 3 centimetres. The olives are green coloured in its infancy and become black as they mature.

The time of the year where the harvesting takes place depends on the variety but it takes place normally in between November and February. The extraction of the oil is carefully controlled and the processes used allow us to prevent the alteration of fatty acids and minimised the increase in acidity.

The processes used in the growth our olives are environmentally-friendly and takes into consideration the impact of its olive groves plantation. To achieve it we have eliminated the use of chemical products during the whole life cycle of the plant. For instance, chemical fertilizers have been replaced by organic ones, pesticides and insecticides by natural and ecological elements and barriers and herbicides have been replaced by manual or mechanical weeding.

Our ecological farming is certified by the Committee for Ecological farming from Valencia region, which guarantee The quality of production processes.

As a result of the joint efforts, la Lagunilla has created a high-quality ecological product combining the most modern farming methods and the most suitable systems to control the use of fertilizers and prevention of plagues.

Sucada is an extra virgin olive oil from ecological farming. It is obtained from the olives through mechanical processes and daily crushing.

Sucada olive oil is available in three sizes: 0.20 l , 0.75 l and 2.5 l.

Olive oil Sucada is obtained from Arbequina variety and provides a fresh smell of fruits with almonds and other aromas, being its taste neither bitter nor spicy.

These are harmonious, sweet, light and delicate oils in which you will discover exotic aromas. Sucada oil perfectly suits fresh or cooked vegetables or grilled fish and meat as it enhances their flavours.

The ecological olives of la Lagunilla are Arbequina variety (Olea Europaea Sativa). The average maturation time ranges from the second week of December and the second week of January. It is a small tree which can resist on dry lands and even during cold winters. This variety has a high productivity and a good oil yield of about 20%. These characteristics make Arbequina one of the varieties with the highest oil extraction percentage.
